It's a long way, Santiago
I've never heard you scream
the language of freedom,
the conflicts,
the craziness,
and the liberation that follow through.
When will you laugh
like a free man?
Torture lasts when you fight.
But you are unaware
of life's misadventures.
Instead, you take them
as sweet surprises.
Willing or not
you are still subject to submission
to which you are deeply obliged to do
They must have taken
your dreams away
for you have stopped wishing.
It's really a long way down-
on that cycle we call life
Please don't forbid your tears
down the river of silence
It's a gracious release, you know
No doubt about that.
On the other hand,
I envy you dear friend.
Too much freedom
Makes me ask for more.
